Device Inventory

Open Devices from the main navigation to reach NETWORK INVENTORY, the authoritative grid for every discovered host. The page subtitle reads NODE REGISTRY and supports search, filters, grouping, column customization, and bulk actions.
The Dashboard shows a condensed registry preview; use this page for day-two operations at scale.

Toolbar controls

On Central Hub appliances, grouping by Node clusters devices under each enrolled site. Group by uplink works on Hub and standalone Nodes. Portable builds use a reduced default column set (no fleet columns).

View modes

Admins can bulk-move devices between ACTIVE and ARCHIVE, or permanently remove from the bulk action bar when rows are selected. Export view and Asset fields are available for the current selection; use Import assets in the toolbar after editing an asset fields export in Excel. The bulk Assets menu can clear warranty, asset tag, or manually entered serial/firmware (OpenAVC-enriched values are kept). See Integrations.
When rows are selected, the bulk actions menu also includes network link tools: set mode, set/clear uplink, and set/clear SSID (Wi-Fi). On a Hub, bulk uplink requires the selection to share one site so parent switches stay on the same Node.

Discovery finds devices. It does not invent which switch port or AP each host uses. The dashboard topology map draws real parent→child edges from operator Network link data. Until you set an uplink, unmapped devices hang under the site gateway (star layout).

Where to edit

Open any device → OverviewNetwork link (below identity / location). Changes save as you leave each field. Manual values are protected from discovery overwrites (Human Property Shield).

Fields

UplinkParent infrastructure already in inventory: switch, AP, router, or modem. This is what places the device under that parent on the topology map.

Suggested workflow

  1. Confirm switches and APs appear in inventory (and have sensible names/types).
  2. For endpoints (PCs, displays, IoT), set Mode, optional Port / SSID, and Uplink to the switch or AP they connect through.
  3. For multi-switch sites, set each access switch’s Uplink to its upstream switch or gateway so the map stacks correctly.
  4. Open Dashboard topology (Hub: pick the site) and confirm devices nest under the right parents.
  5. Use Group by uplink and link filters on Devices when auditing incomplete maps.
LLDP/CDP auto-assist is not required for mapping today. Manual Network link is the supported path.

Device Drawer

Click any row to open the Device Drawer, a full-height panel with a sticky header and six tabs (five in portable mode):

On Hub appliances, federated devices may show a short sync hint on Security until the owning Node pushes telemetry (typically within 1–2 minutes after a deep scan).
OpenAVC: Admins configure credentials under Settings → OPENAVC on each Node. Linked devices show driver badges in the grid; open Controls to link, pin macros, and run actions. On phones, readings, run actions, and pinned macros are visible without accordion taps. Device readings require macros that write OpenAVC device state (see Integrations). Viewers see badges and live state but cannot run macros.
Viewer-role users see read-only fields. Alert Only users do not access the Devices page; see User management.

Fleet reporting columns

When federation is enabled, optional columns include Reporting Node, Client, Building, and Room, populated from Settings → IDENTITY on each Node. VLAN override labels from Scan settings appear in the VLAN column.

Discovery limits

Device discovery is unlimited on every tier. The inventory grid shows every device the sweep finds, with no masked or greyed-out rows.
Business unlocks persistent history, alerts, federation columns, and multi-user access, not a higher device count.
